Cottage Renovation in Sandsend, Whitby
Much of the work we undertake in the Whitby area of North Yorkshire involves renovating older properties, such as this old cottage in Sandsend, just a few miles from Whitby.
This project involved building stud walls out of 2x2 timber. The walls were slightly narrower than normal as the property is quite small and we wanted to maximise the available space in the room.
We then insulated with 50mm insulation and finished with tongue and groove match boarding over the top.
Externally we knocked out the old weather-worn pointing to the front wall of the house and re-pointed with traditional lime mix. You can find out more about our lime plastering and pointing services here.
